About Me

Hi! Welcome to Diaries of a Home Cook! My name is Lynnette, and I am excited to share my love of food with you.

I’m just a girl who loves God and family.

I am a wife to an amazing man who loves and suports me in everyway possible. My husband and I don’t have any children yet, but we do have wonderul fur babies. We have three dogs, a cat, and a guinea pig (unfortunately Teepo Passed a month ago, but he is forever in my heart!). Though I must say my kitty is my precious *cue Smeagol voice*. We love our little family and we are thankful every day for them. I am also a firm believer in Christ. Without Jesus I honestly don’t know where I would be today. The Lord gives me strength daily and is constantly teaching me to be a better person so that I can share His love with others. If it were not for my faith in God, my husband, and my family I would not have considered starting out on this culinary journey.

What does food mean to me?

There are several things I am passionate about, two of which are food and learning. Cooking should be enjoyable. Those who put their heart and soul into their cooking tend to put out better tasting dishes. You can guess why that is. I want all of you out there to know that cooking can be fun, and that you don’t need to go to culinary school to learn to make amazing meals for those you love. Food brings people together, always. Think of a treasured memory with friends and family, is food involved in that memory? I am guessing that it is. In almost every culture, sitting down to a meal with family is very important. Cooking not only allows us to feed our loved ones, but it allows us to learn and grow as individuals.

My food diaries are intended to encourage you to get into the kitchen to create and learn. I will be learning everyday, and sharing my experience. I want my experiences to encourage you to cook outside of your comfort zone. You can cook alone, you can cook with your friends, or you can cook with your family. The important thing is to just in the kitchen, create, and have fun!
